Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida feeds hundreds of thousands of families in our community. We use our platform to promote their work and to encourage others to join us in their mission to fight hunger.
How we help:
Fundraise
During Covid, we had to cancel our first customer-wide volunteer day with Second Harvest. We hopped onto Facebook, set up a Fundraiser and raised over $2,500 in 24 hours. Now, we host these fundraisers regularly (and set a matching donation amount too).
Volunteer
Twice a year, we invite our supporters to join us at Second Harvest to help sort food that has been donated. The shifts are short but impactful. In each 3 hour shift we sort enough food to feed hundreds of people.
Canned Food Drive
In 2019, we started a canned food drive at our annual Thanksgiving Pie Day event and collected over 300lbs of food in just a few hours. We’re glad to make it easy for everyone to participate in fighting hunger.
